"Park" setting on headlight switch (S2)

Renovating my S2 switch console today I found the headlight switch from the spares console (from a four-pot) has both a PARK (Push) and FOG (Push) setting, the old one only had FOG. The connectors are different too - in the no. 3 position it also has a double where the old one has none at all, and the no. 2 connector is single as opposed to double on the old one.

If SIDE gives me sides, number plate and rears, what's it for (let it be something cool 8) )?
There's an unconnected green/purple wire behind the console. Would the two be related?

Hi Tor,

The "Park" setting allows you to park your car on the street in the dark and only have the front and rear side lights on the off-side illuminated thereby saving your battery. So in the UK, Park would illuminate the right hand side lights only.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for that! Quite a useful feature, actually. Tried the setting with the wiring as before, and it's currently the same as SIDE, ie. all but headlights, including dials. This is a former RHD car converted to LHD so I guess I'll have to go into the fusebox and make a pickup for left-hand side and tail. Unsure about the switch, does anyone have the layout for it?
