Pathe film of Rover P6 range from 1971...

That is marvellous stuff. I think it pre-dates 1971 though. About 1968, judging by the cars.

I could never drive a V8 that fast!!!

:D

Yes, that's launch film from late '67 for the 3500. Did you notice the white V8 is missing the alloy trim strip on the bonnet lip?

The crash test car is a late Talago - I reckon it's P6/12 of November 1961 because of the three element extract vent in the rear quarter panel.

Thats "Brill" and "super" bring back a feeling of nostalgia for the 60's and 70's with it's music and backgrounds reminds me of the like of the prisioner series with Patrick McGoohan (sp) the p6 shots wern't bad either.

Fab! There was a video that included this and other early P6 film, called Rover 2000 I think (funnily enough!)
I bought it a few years back and it's well worth tracking down.

The film is available on the 'Rover 2000' video by Heritage Motoring Films. It is dated as 1968 on the video box.

The crash test car is 116 FLK, one of the off-tools prototypes built on the production line around March/April 1963 and the crash test took place in 1966 in preparation for the advance to the US market place.
