Petition to lower VED for cars between 20 and 40 years old

A waste of time when you have to pay
£12-50 a day to drive them because of the ULEZ. My lovely two owner Rover 620 GSi is fridges now because of that.

Every little helps. There are some fantastic cars that don't live in cities that are aging into modern classics, this would add incentive to owners to keep them and not let them turn into fridges.

It would be at least something if they tidied up their qualifying periods for MOT and road tax exemptions. Before anyone says anything, I know it still needs tax, but it's zero rated.

MOT is 40 yr anniversary from first registration, however tax is from April the following year. I've just been through this with the Saab, first reg March '83. I tried to tax it last October with real money but couldn't because of no MOT. I've had to wait until today before I can get the taxation class changed on the V5. And breathe. Still all done now,

Colin
