hi all

my 2200TC hadnt ran since thu. went to start it today, it turned a couple of times then died. nothing lit on the dash, no movement, nothing.
went to the battery and gave the connectors a shake. nothing major, just a wee move. hey presto, started first time.

any ideas what could have caused this?

i drove the car for about 20 miles and then parked it for half an hour. the same thing happened again and was resolved in the same way.

This is a common problem, and usually results from corrosion - even to a minimal degree- on the terminals . I would wash the battery, and the terminals , down with an alkaline solution - sodium bicarbonate is ideal , and then smear vaseline on the terminals and reconnect

Also check the earth cable, where it mounts the body can get rusty and will give you problems.

Hi, check the battery post and inside the battery clamp for a light brown varnish type
coating, just clean off with emery.
