Rear decker rubber

I have a brand new rear decker rubber, but the fit is just awful.

Does anybody have a supple, good second hand rubber or NOS genuine one for sale. Many thanks

If it didnt come from Scotts old rubber in OZ then its probably not contoured/curved to fit the screen and will be a terrible fit, send it back!
Its probably quicker and more cost effective to get one from Scotts,as nos ones are rarer than a Dodo, and wont be cheap!!
A good s/h one that doesnt give off black residue,is almost as rare!
And also trying to remove and refit a s/h one is not the easiest of jobs,as it tends to not like being moved about after years in the same place, they often split!
Ive had 2 excellent fitting and looking ones off breakers, and both cracked when with the decker on the workbench, being extra careful trying to remove them!!!

This is curved and contoured, but still very poor. I think it was £80 too ... I will give no suppliers names, but the fit of the thing winds me up.

If you over tighten the clamping metal length onto the decker it will pinch it up and not sit right!
It only needs to be gripped fairly lightly!
If you decide youre gonna bin it,bung it my way,and I will try it,if its F##@ed,I will bin it!

There is nothing wrong with the rubber, bar its an ill fitting repro. It has been fitted properly ... it just does not sit right on one side .... there must be a decent second hand one about surely.

hi,
like pilkie said there are no good second hand ones available. it is another thing on my list to get re-produced, but i will only re-produce from a new old stock one, not a second hand one as they all shrink and it is no good trying to copy a shrunken one.

James Dean, in FL, USA has repro'd the Decker seal for the P6

Perfect fitment too (IME), when this seal goes the trunk starts leaking

Hard part to find ; email James for a quote:
