REAR WINDSCREEN RUBBER ROVER P5B

I am trying to fit a new rubber to the rear windscreen of my P5B, The one I received from JR Wadhams appears to be a bad fit, it looks ok but appears to be far to tight a fit and does not reach the bodyline, this means that the fixing clamps and clips are not reaching the rubber. I have not received a reply from Wadhams as yet.

Has anyone fitted a similar rubber? Am I doing somthing wrong?
 
I have fitted screens to my P5,

I am not sure if JRW has his own or scotts old auto rubber.

I fitted the scotts type.

1) make sure the glass is seated in the correct channel. (some people fit inside out and seat the glass in the lip which goes on the trim, the channel should be more squared)
2) the entire aperture needs to be packed with dum dum as per original, the screen needs to be sitting on the dumdum.
3) the clips and clamp only really hold the rubber in place the don't clamp the screen in as you would expect.
