Hi All,
I've recently had my distributor reconditioned by a company called H&H Ignition Solutions. They're a family business based in Brierley Hill. The quality of their work is superb - it looks like it has just left the Lucas factory! Here's a before and after shot so that you can see what i mean:
If I hadn't taken photos, I would be suspicious that I'd got the right Dizzy back, but it definately is mine! It's not painted either, it's acid dipped and shot blasted. All the internals are plated before it's put back together.
Previously I had loads of central shaft wobble which meant my timing was completely shot. Now it's absolutely rock solid.
You can find H&H at H&H Ignition Solutions
To top it all, I fitted a pertronix electronic ignition. I can say that with my dizzy now being in perfect condition, could I tell the difference over the points? No! not a jot. I'm still keeping the Pertronix though as it'll cut down on maintenance
The price was very reasonable too, it cost me £84. I think that's a pretty good deal. It came back with a new condesor, points, rotor arm and cap.
Best Regards,
Brian.
