replacement bolts

Hi everyone, car in question 1971 P6 3500, would anyone know the size of bolts ie thread type/size that fix the brake calipers to the swivel pillar & also the size of the small bolt that holds the dust shield in place, its the bolt thats exposed when the brake disc is removed? And can you still buy them?

The caliper bolts are special, and so as I doubt that they're still available new I think you'll need to find someone who has them secondhand. ISTR the dust shield retaining bolt was 1/4" UNF, but you could re-tap it to anything as the thread isn't critical.

There are two types of dust shield bolt.

The one that bolts through the shield, and into the lug on the upright is a coarse thread (UNC), but if you have the one that bolts through the lug on the upright into the captive nut on the shield, it will be a fine thread (UNF)

I got the wrong shields and had to cut the captive nut off.

I'm in the process of replacing my dust shields at the moment, the originals were badly affected by rust, one of the caliper bolts rounded off & needed to be drilled out and the smaller retaining bolt just snapped. Appreciate the replies.
