Hi Folks

My reserve tap has a leak ,is it possible to bypass it ? as I never use it ,plus I have read that doing the o-ring is a bit of a mare on a V8 !

cheers

My reserve tap is at the back . I had to do the o-ring whilst on my back and it was a breeze , cept for a bit of high octane running down to the armpit.

Mine is on the bulkhead ,right behind the engine ,it looks a bit awkward to get to !

on the V8 it is simple, take off the air filter and you have plenty of access.

I have done it before, the pipe fittings should come off easy enough as should the retaining nut.

if you are careful you can remove the valve by taking on the small slot head srew out and it just pulls out. would put something under the car or tap to catch it incase you drop it.

Raise the front of the car to minimise petrol escaping.

I am going to try your approach ,this was the method Mark Gray advised ,I only have skinny little hands ,so it should be a doddle !!! LOL :)
