Hi, I'm listing this on behalf of my girlfriends mother, it was her fathers car, but he sadly passed away last November. This was a car he intended to restore, but never got around to it.
Haven't found the documentation to check on exact details, but it's on a K plate, so 1970? Anyways, it's a single carb 2000 in mustard yellow with black interior, it's unmodified, 83k, No idea about service history. I intended to get it started and pull it out of the garage to give it a wash, but was thwarted two fold. First, the brakes are seized, which is no surprise as it's been in there about 8 years. The fluid in the reservior looks ok, so I'm hoping it's just rusty discs, not anything hydraulic, but my attempt to break it free by engine power failed when the clutch pedal went to the floor, and it seems the slave cylinder is seized down, so there's no drive!
The engine started easily tho, and really does run sweet as a nut. The body is in great shape, though it's difficult to see what it's like underneath. Exterior panels are all very good, and what can be seen of the shell and suspension all looks very solid and in good order. Inside all seems complete, though the carpet is missing in the drivers footwell, perhaps it was damp and smelly, but the floor under it looks very solid, so it could just be a bit of a leak. The seats are all there, no rips or tears, and all the various switches and controls seem to work, quite a feat for a Lucas equipped car!
So here's what pics I could get, if you have any questions or requests for specifit photos, I can do that.
Speaking to My Girlfriends Mum, she says she would be happy to take a few hundred for it, I suspect she'd take a couple of hundred for it. The car is in Sheffield, and if you'd like to arrange to view it, please call me on 0797 9696976 or email blender57@hotmail.com
Many thanks
Andy
