ROVER 45 BRAKES

HI,

I just fitted a new set of front pads to my 45 but they smell like a burning clutch when slowing down . does anyone have any ideas ?
 
Did they work properly before ? I'd guess the pads are jammed in the calipers or the caliper is not free to slide, resulting in the pads being held against the disc and overheating
I'm assuming you've used quality brake pads ?
 
HI,

I fitted new discs last night and its like you said the pads were jamming on the disc problem solved .
