Rover 800 Wanted!!

Hi Guys,

Looking for a Rover 800.

Would consider all varients but would prefer either the saloon or coupe model. Will consider all engine varients.

Looking to pay between about £600 and £1200 and would prefer it to be in the Scotland area.

Long MOT and some Tax would be a benefit but it needs to be a good reliable runner as I will be using it for getting back and forward to work.

Also looking at 75 2.0 V6's but they still seem to be a bit pricey for what I'm looking for.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Cheers,

Thanks for the prompt reply!!

Any chance you could post a link to the 800 forum? There seems to be quite a few enthusiats forums out there so some direction would be appreciated!

Cheers.

When Rick webmaster is next on he'll be offering lots of help too - he has 800's coming out of his ears!

Hi guys!

Finally managed to sort myself out with a mint condition Rover 820Si! It's a 1999 T reg.

Runs well although there are a few wee problems with ABS sensors, elec windows, wireless etc but fully intend to sort these out!

"Brook Shaw" - Thanks for the offer but I'm afraid I only have eyes for an 800!

However, on reading the most recent edition of Practical Classics magazine, I'm kind of wishing I'd saved up the extra wedge and got myself a P5 3.0L or P5B 3.5L. I love those cars............. :D I think I may make one my next acquisition!

sounds about right - the one we had it was simply a case of cleaning all the switch contacts inside the car... you may find similar!

Good luck with it!

Yep, another key thing to look at is the under dash fusebox, resoldering all the connections generally sorts all the problems.

Loads of info on the 800 forum though, they'll have you sorted in no time.
