S1 and S2 window frame compatibility

One of the last jobs I have to do to get my S1 back on the road is to get all the windows winding up and down. The back two are stuck solid and you can feel the flex in the frame as you wind the front up. The car is relatively good condition but sat around for many years before I took ownership. I assume the rails are rusted.

I have obtained a full set of very good condition S2 windows (still in the frames). Just wondering the following
1. The S2 front window frames still have the crome 'cam' on them for the S1 quarter window lock. Can I remove the S2 winder mechanism and fit the S1 quarter windows or do I need to transfer the main glass and the winder mechanism into my original frames?

2. The sticker on the S2 windows show they are tempered and made by a different company than the S1 windows (looks something like Sercuvis). Is there any practical difference between the earlier and later windows

The winders (regulators) could well just be stuck in hardened grease. S1 & S2 regulator are the same I think. Answer to 1 is no as far as I can tell. Answer to two is no, all the glass is tempered. However, the front quarter glass on S1 has the hole. And the S1 rear quarter glass may or may not have a hole.

Lets hope it is just grease.
In the event the channels on the bottom of the glass is rusty (have seen some in earlier posts) can I swap them over with the S2 ones?
