S1/S2 Panels interchangaable?

I feel like I should know the answer to this, but having a blonde/senior moment.

Are the s1 & S2 panels interchangable aside from obvious cosmetic differences?

Particularly doors and rear panels?
 
Yes, the panels are all interchangeable.

One of my cars is a good mixture of S1 and S2 components.

I've noticed that the S2 style quarterlight fouls the door mirror on this car - I'm not sure if this is because of the mixed components or poor positioning of the door mirror.
 
There are some minor differences on some panels. The front guards have a cutout to clear the light fitting on S2 the early rear guards don't have the third cutout for the reverse light as it was seperate. The doors stayed similar but the earlier ones didn't have the anti burst stud and catch - its the button thingy that slides into the heavy steel slot piece when you shut the door. obviously there is a variety of qtr light designs but they don't align with the series change and generally there are only two glass types those with holes and those without (for the catch). Not all roofs have the aerial hole. rear qtr panels vary between painted and vinyl covered and there is a variety of badging but it didn't really follow the series change. Obviously the grills are different as is the bonnet.
