SCUM

That's very sad to see Phil. :( I remember pictures in the club mag of you bowling along in that car.
I hope they catch the little b*stards and string them up by the unmentionables!

I live about 15m from Stroud and used to work in the area a lot.
Knowing some of the classic crowd in that area,it wont be long before they are found and shall we say, "sorted out"
There is no excuse for this totally moronic behaviour!
I only hope that WHEN they are discovered, they have cars that are their pride and joy, because they WILL get whats coming to them!

Gutted for you and for the new owner. If I caught someone doing that to my car, or the naugbours for that matter, i'm not sure I could control my self.

I am sorry to see that Phil... Your happy memories and the current owner's wedding plans ruined by scum.

Just what sort of rubbish people do we have in society today?

Ron.

Sparky wasn't damaged as much as that - but it still makes you feel like campaigning for the reintroduction of corporal punishment.

Police had DNA evidence and finger prints when mine was attacked but took ten weeks to inform me that they couldn't match them to anyone.

Richard,
I think you could probably edit that to read that "they couldn't be bothered to find anyone to match them to".

I hope they get caught and someone sets fire to them (I'd volunteer to set them alight  )and they can see how they like it. In Classic Car Weekly last week or the week before there was a guy who had his garage full of classics torched and another person who had a Saab V4 torched, sad sad stuff. If these kids had any idea that there was consequences for their actions they'd soon straighten up, set fire to my car and I set fire to you is the answer not "well, little Johnny is depressed and has issues but he's entitled to have them and it's not his fault". Absolute Rubbish!!! Knock them into shape in any way you see fit and make some worthy additions to our population, not Burberry baseball cap wearing oxygen thieves.

Things like this make me totally sick...!!! When those little turds do get caught they should be taken to a quiet alley way and be 'told' never to be naughty again... People like that do not contribute anything decent to society so they should, quite simply, not be allowed to be part of it...!!!

Angry on...

Yes that's right. we can't be arsed to catch villains. None of our failures can be in any way attributed to the the way this country's governments have shaped the system. The police invented the human rights laws and all this innocent until proven guilty bollocks and they welcomed all of the targets and monitoring (and the monitoring of the monitoring) with open arms. Why the hell could they not just drag in some lag off the streets and pin it on him - he was probably had it coming anyway. Just as long as it's not your lad / mate that gets pulled in though eh?
I'm pretty sure there can't be that much of a backlog of DNA tests go through. Yes, yes I'm sure in fact that there must be labs at every police station.

Get a grip. No one slags off the health service quite like this. They solemnly accept that it is overstretched and that yes the queues are too long but that's probably due to funding maybe. And of course no one would dream of slagging the nurses off.

Angry off....

Personally I think to be in the police force requires a lot of conviction. You should know I guess that people here are probably venting frustration whilst being unaware that being in the police force can be that disheartening, and that must be incredibly frustrating for you who's trying hard on their behalf.

Rich.

I know they are just venting - I see a lot of venting. I have been on 7 days straight and was doing a little myself I suppose.
The drink driver who spat in my colleagues face twice last night was just venting too I guess
I shouldn't take it personally but I can't help it sometimes. I'm off out for a run I think.

No one deserves treatment like that. Sorry if i came accross as condescending. I'm a bit of a tension-hater. I Wouldnt last 2 minutes doing your job... I'm really not hard-nosed enough.

I didn't want to hijack this thread so I'll say no more but rest assured that we throw them (using necessary force of course) in front of the courts as often as we can. What happens next is down to a group of people who live on planet zod.

Sorry that you feel this way TP, but I used to have a lot of respect for the Police. No more though.

Sparky was damaged and my house was also damaged to the sum of around £3,000 on the 10th Sept 2009. The Police took fingerprints from the spray tin and got a DNA sample from a garden implement from next door found near their broken window - next door was broken into as well. I chased Barnsley Police about progress every couple of weeks but was finally told on 17th November that the fingerprints and DNA could not be matched.

However, this was not what destroyed my respect for the Police.

A few years ago I suffered an attack from a possibly drug crazed lunatic who forced me off the road in Derby. My two children were in the car at the time. The Police lost the file, sent it to the wrong station, lost it again and then assured me that they were sorting it, even though no-one had been assigned to the case. I eventually put it a formal complaint and was phoned be a Chief Inspector who talked down to me like I was a piece of dirt. After 20 minutes on the phone he came round to my way of thinking and actually looked into the case. He found that no-one was looking into it, and got it moving gain. The file was sent to Sheffield Police and the assailant was questioned. He admitted forcing me off the road but as it was more than six months the CPS refused to prosecute, as he could only be prosecuted for a driving offence.

At the same time I was wrongly accused of speeding by the Wiltshire Speed Scameraship. I spent 18 months fighting the case until I was eventually aquitted. The Police told lies in court but covered it up when I was again forced to make a complaint. I wrote to the Chief Constable with an explanation of the cover up and evidence showing that the Professional Standards Department were telling lies and covering up a serious crime committed by a civilian police employee. He passed it to the Professional Standards Department to look into. The whole thing basically stank of cover up and lie after lie.

I was dazed throughout this whole ordeal as I couldn’t quite believe the blatancy on the cover up and the lengths they would go to just to get a conviction against an innocent person.

Now I have lost all respect for what I used to believe to be the best police force on the planet, and I haven’t even started on PC Mark Milton, PC Steven Akrill, PC Cristopher Walker, and the assailant of Ian Tomlinson, all of whom seem to be intent on demonstrating without doubt that there is one law for us and one law for them, and it seems to get worse by the minute.

Rant over.

I wrote a massive long post which I've saved but won't submit here. Not the time or the place. don't mind PMMing it though.
Just read the blog I linked to. It's very insightful and just about spot on.

My blog was a 500MB web site which mysteriously disappeared one day.

It showed all of the correspondence sent from either party over a period of four years including letters to and from Wiltshire Police, the IPCC, CPS, HMIC, and 10 Downing Street including questions asked in parliament about the accuracy of the LTI 20-20. I had emails from many hundreds of people including Policemen from other forces offering help.

It wasn't a five minute argument, it was a four year long battle trying to get justice from a Police force which just ignored all of the evidence and told lie after lie ater lie.

This is the sort of thing that has destroyed the respect of the general public for our police force.

Richard

No organisation is 100% perfect, schools, hospitals and the Police. On the whole though, they are decent folk, doing a really tough job, constrained more and more by bureaucracy and political correctness.

We would be in a right state without the Police! If anyone in the public sector needs attacking, it is certain Politicians! After the loss of President Blair, we now live in a counrty with an "Offical" population of 62m and 1/4 if children nationally (all the little villages, enclaves and backwaters included) are born to a foreign mother. The term foreign mother means not born in the UK, an Asian woman born in the UK is therefor deemed indigenous.

I think we should leave the Police alone ..... look at Labours answer to policing shortages, community Police ..... I knew a chap who sprayed cars locally, who was just over 5ft tall, weighed about 9 stone and was of Asian heritage ... he was snapped up like there was no tomorrow. Also the image that is engrained in my mind one firework night at a local park, 3 community Police, two women with backsides as wide as Southend pier and the third had a limp!!

This country is in bother.
