hello all, my new 3500s came with a nice set of SD1 rims which look good but i want to change it back to standard. do i just need p6 wheel nuts or is it a bit more serious than that???? ???
HI p6Stu,
It all depends if the studs were changed for SD1 studs, if the nuts are of the champhered variety I doubt it would matter if you re-used them with the P6 wheels
Cheers

hi alimorg,
Thanks for the reply. The wheel nuts are not the champfered type. They are chrome with a washer attatched and a totally different thread.I wonder if anyone knows of a wheel nut to fit the p6 wheel but with an sd1 thread?
I have a set of SD1 wheel nuts (rubber flange part way down the nut ) on my car with P6 2000 steel wheels and SD1 hub caps. The hub caps looked smart but are a pain in the .... to put back on - daft spring behind the wheel trim on each nut.
I have now swapped the wheels back to steel 3500 ones and will fit S type hub caps once I get a set of suitable wheel nuts.
So the question I now have is, what is the difference between the threads on the P6 & SD1 ?
If they are different how do I check which thread I have ?
hi,
the diffence is p6 are UNF and sdi are METRIC. easiest way try a p6 nut down the thread if it screws on easily you have p6 UNF threads if not someone has changed them ( probably sierra studs ) METRIC
