Series 2 front seats

Does anyone have any experience of repairing seat covers? I have 2 seats which have splits in each on the squab, and although the strip leather panels are intact there is no damage elsewhere. Having had a go at a ruined seat I am surprised to find that the leather appears to be sewn and glued to cloth panels and then to the foam.
Every car mag seems to have someone who has recovered seats but never as far as I have read, a P6!! Does anyone know how to do this or is it a job for the specialists?

A few places exist in Sandbach - hopefully not to far for you, some are used to repair lorry seats that are sent back to Foden/ERF for refurb, others can do a full refit.

At the cheap end of the scale CC Trim, Congleton Road ( hidden behind the Military Arms ) or for the professionals use Martrim Ltd, Unit 10, Millbrook Way, Elworth. Both will do a perfectly good job at a simple seam restitch and I would expect turn around to be a day or two at the most.
