i'm sat here listening to how much snow there is about and people being stranded
i haven't got any snow!
just wet.
my pipes were frozen this morning for the 1st time so its cold but no snow
so how is it where you are in Britain?

i hear on the radio its not great around London.
still nothing here!
i know snow is a pain but i quite like it in some ways.
quite enjoyable to go for a walk in
and my car is the same colour all over for a change!

Thing is its been predicted for weeks. Why are people surprised and going out driving in it?

Time to post some pics I think...

:D :D

We've had very little up here for a change :D

About an inch yesterday that froze overnight and is now thawing.

These cold bright days are great though. It was light until just before 5pm the other day. Usually dark by around 4 when it's overcast :D

Take care if you're out in the snow having fun

Dave

Nothing here on the Fylde coast, but cold and freezing fog at 0800. I came over Shap at 5.30pm last night in a blizzard that turned to an ice storm, I had to pull over to snap the ice lumps off the wipers as I could not see to drive (I was driving a Skoda Roomster). Saw 3 accidents in 20 miles, but even my wife couldn't understand how you bent a car on a 3 lane motorway with light traffic. Crap driving or fear of snow possibly?

John.

Problems this morning on the way to our local sledging Mecca were down to people slowing and not using the cars momentum on hills....

Rich.

Just tried mine in the snow and it's rubbish

Won't go up the hill outside the garage at all. dunno if it's the auto or just the general weight of the thing... Mini with no snow tyres went up.

Thought it wouldn't be any good, never mind, it's melting now :)

Minis and metros are superb in snow... ( as was our old Nissan Figaro....)

The p6 isn't bad though... The sierra was I think the worst car I've had in snow.

The 800 made it through country lanes past lots of modern cars to the local sledging hill. Just had to push it into the car park.

My P6 is having a rest this winter and I'm using my SD1 Vitesse as a daily.

OMG! Absolutely shocking in the snow  Got stuck in a flat car park

The lesser models with thinner tyres I remember being much better but my 2200 TC is great :)

Last Friday i was the only one that dared to enter the office car park. Easy peasy with winter tyres.

All the snow gone here now .Not even that cold
Trouble with modern cars on ice/snow is that the tyres are so wide hence the contact pressure is lower
Older cars with 145/155/165 width tyres were much better

the year before last we had alot of snow here in hertfordshire and at that time i had a fwd audi a6 1.8 20v t auto with tiptronic there was no stop in that car didnt push on or wheelspin, even a rav4 got stuck up black lion hill i just drove right past it and about 12 cars stuck behind that and people standing outside there cars as i drove past and the look on there faces  jaw drop

We had roughly the same as Phil over here, but I guess I'm only about 50-60 miles away, so makes sense. No problems for me, but then I have nowhere to go

Main roads are now clear side roads still have snow but more so the pavements, had Widget (the XR3) out yesterday and braved Buttercup today, when I say braved its because Im worried about the other so called drivers out there :|
