Sobering Story

I can remember hearing stories years ago about people pumping up the suspension on Citroen DS's to work underneath with the car then collapsing on top of them. Don't know if it's true or just an urban myth? I suppose you certainly wouldn't want to jack the car up on hydropneuminatic suspension in order to carry out work on the suspension system  - that would qualify for a Darwin Award.

That is a dangerous one, The best short-cut way with those cars is to set the suspension to its highest setting, then put Axel stands under suitable areas, then put the suspension onto the lowest setting, and of course checking it's all safe. But even then, I'd be wary about going under the suspension components in that scenario.
