hi all,
anybody got any idea  on the paint code for the above. it was put on the quarter panels for sure on the 2000 TC export to the USA, not sure about anywhere else. your help would be much appreciated.

hi chris,
not a p6, but a mini for eily and she likes the the solent blue, so was trying to find out the paint code, sorry for it not being a p6. it is keeping me busy and have had no time to do anything on my car. hers now looks better with a pair of new wings, 'A' panels front panel and new bonnet £150.00. just bought new drums, shoes, cylinders, front discs, calipers, pads, shocks and a head gasket set all for under £300.00 dearest thing was the calipers at £57.00 each. can't beleive how cheap everything is for these minis.

That,s the difference between the Mini a popular, cult car that the world and his wife
wants with parts that wont go from one MOT to the next without attention.Hence
economies of scale. Then there is the Rover, a luxury car that will plod on for years
with little or no attention. In the meantime suppliers of parts think there is no demand
and so a niche market arises. hence no economies of scale.

Before anyone starts, I am not against Mini's. Just personal experience!

hi,
yes i realise that. anything i have made is on such a small scale compared to the likes of mini etc, that the cost comes down to man hours in changing machines etc over to do a small production run. i had a really obnoxious and foul mouthed e-mail about the cost of my bonnet badge through ebay of which i ignored, saying what a rip off and he could get an sdi badge for a few quid. the main cost of the badge is in new tooling and labour. people will give the same sort of money for a bmw, vauxhall, toyota etc badge and think nothing of it, yet they are churned out in the millions and cost peanuts to make. sometimes makes me wonder why i bother.

Hi, yes it's double standards if they have an old car they think it should be
cheap to run. But when they want to sell it they want fortunes for it.

Sorry, I was not meant to be patronising but I forgot who was posting.

hi colin,
i did not think you were patronising, sorry if it looked like that. just sometimes get fed up as we all do with things in life. it was my moan / grumble for the day. onwards and upwards as they say.
