All,
I've been using the P5B a lot recently and while comfortable and reliable I have some niggles with the engine:
1. Whole car vibration at 2500 - 3000 rpm. This is no matter the gear selected and can be simulated at standstill in 'P'. The toolkit, steering wheel and my single filling start rattling. It is a 'wum ... wum' vibration, almost inaudible, that speed up (wumwumwum) towards 3000rpm and then disappears.
2. Slight popping from the exhaust at idle once fully warm.
3. Noticeable drop off in engine revs if braking from 70 to a stop. It has only stalled once but still embarrassing.
I am thinking along the lines of a mixture adjustment (likely lean with exhaust popping) & carb setup (once again) but wanted the input of the great & the good on this board. I am hoping the engine mounts are not failing me now!
The car has a good spark (lumention and magnecors) and nothing has been changed recently before these ailments started to manifest. I did change the rear view mirror, but pretty sure it's not to blame
