spigot bearing removal, how ?

Gentlemen, is there a special tool for removeing the spigot bearing on the crankshaft? - My spigot bearing is stuck in the shaft. Do I use heat? Actually I have rebuilt a SD1 engine from scratch and everything was well until I should fit the converter. The tap was too big to go into the crankshaft end face. I believe the crankshaft was supposed to be for a manual (?), however, too late and the bearing is not moving at all. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris Varming

If it's a bush, you could try getting a drift that just fits inside the bearing and then filling the bearing with
thick grease or wet newspaper and hammering the drift into the end of the crank. The hydraulic force from
the grease or paper will force it out, you just need to keep packing it full and drifting it.

The grease method is a method. I used another method which also worked well. I don't know the English word for this type of fastening device but it is used to attach heavy items on brick walls

Just find the suitable size of special bolt you need, fit it to the spigot bearing and fit a piece of large diameter tube or square pipe and put a large spacer and nut on the thread and pull it out.
I used this on 2 occasions and it worked very well
