Starting my descent into madness with a P6

Some progress has been made, rear brakes sorted with rebuilt calipers and a replacement pair of discs, all road legal but now a question.

I need to get it starting and running a bit better, things are generally a bit tired which is fine for what I want to abuse it for, but still needs to work nicely in traffic to make it fully usable.

There seem to be a bunch of answers on what to set the timing to, so I've gone with a reasonably common 6°BTDC which seems to work ok.

I've found a great article on how to set up the carbs which seems to have worked so far when warm, although I'm not too sure about balancing given the amount of slack in the linkage between, but I'll get to an airflow check at some point when I get a chance to see how that looks.

Now need to set up the choke and am lacking sensible information, so my question is - can someone tell me the correct fast idle setting at full choke, so I can drive it slightly warm rather than having to wait until fully warmed up.

Any assistance appreciated......
Electronic ignition. Works every time. My 2200sc was a pig to start, very often 10 minutes to fire up properly. Now I can leave it outside for six weeks without looking at it and it fires up in 10 seconds. A good cheap fix.

All was going reasonably well, then.....

After investigating some not very pleasant noises while driving the other day, I've discovered that some (well almost all) of the bolts between the bell housing and trans have come loose, and done a tour of the inside before trying to make their way out. The result is a somewhat broken bell housing that either needs some serious welding or a replacement. The trans itself seems to be fine, as in it was driven to where it's currently parked, I thought there might have been a washer loose in there rather than 3 bolts and assorted other bits that fell out when I got the cover off.

Does anyone in the south of New Zealand know of a bell housing or complete trans for sale? While I know of a very good welder who could probably deal with it, replacement would probably be easier and quicker.
