Steering side rod arm ?

Hi guys thought this would be the best place to ask , unfortunately my car failed its MOT on i think the above mentioned item. Not to sure on names of things as still not familliar with the car despite spending the last week or so reading loads on here and scaring myself silly about vapour lock and cooling issues
The car only failed on split pin missing from the castelated nut set up, not bad for a car that had been sat for 3 years but when i investigated i took the nut off the steering arm , the front one which points down the way i found the threads mostly missing from bolt part and no threads to mention on the nut and no hole to put a slit pin through any way!
Looking around the internet i found the following link from Rover Classics http://www.rover-classics.co.uk/partsli ... category=3

Is this a good place to go or are their better deals to be had or does any one have a good second hand, one cheers for any info and experience Tam.

I just bought a new side rod from Rover Classics, it seems to be spot on.

Seems strange that the threads have gone though - best get a new rod.

The new ones do not have castelated nuts, they have nylocs

Thanks for that, don't know what someone has done to threads could maybe get away with just getting a new nut but might as well take the plunge. What did the cost come to delivered, around £50 ?

I don't know how much it was, as I bought a few other things at the same time.

Ian is on here quite regularly, or give him a ring in the morning.

Cheers

Richard
