If the clutch is stuck on, you won't get any nasty burning clutch smells, 'cos it's the clutch slipping that causes that, and yours won't disengage, let alone slip........ (Mind you, you might find it slips when you've freed it off......)

i tried theone wheel in the air starting it in 4th trick and it didn't work!
it did make a hideous noise mind.
today though i tried again with for some reason both wheels in the air?
hideous noise in 4th again so tried other gears on my imaginary drive until my mate said something happened and hey presto the clutch was operating!
yippee
so i cruised the driveway untill i had to brake and now for tomorrows job of freeing the front calipers off!
oh well
thanks awfuully for all the advice guys
now to book an optimistic mot
