suspension bushings - are they having a laugh?

Just checked prices of suspension bushes. Are those people for real? Have you seen them prices? They are all in range of £10- £15 quid! I need to change all of mine. Nearly all of them are perished or worn. It looks like I'll have to take a second mortgage just to pay for the rubbers. OK, enough rumbling, where can I buy/borrow some spring compresors to fit P6 springs?

Thay are a non-perishable variety, which is polyurethane I hope. Well, I have to bite the bullet if I want to pass MOT. Are the ones from JRW rubber or poly?

Pollybushes are a MUST. Regardless of what car you are fitting them to.
They dont last for ever but they do last a damn long time.

I fitted a set of pollybushes to my BGT front suspension. They are marginally harder than rubber, or, they can be allot harder if you go for race spec bushes. Well worth the investment.
I know of a guy who fitted BV8 bushes to a bgt who found that after a years daily driving the V8 bushes, allegedly made from harder compounds were knackered.
Spend the money now and you wont have to for a long long time.

Go for the more expensive ones, especially if you're not fitting yourself.

If you're keeping the car they will pay for themselves in no time, I too have had experience of fitting repro-rubbber bushes that lasted barely a year (on an Austin with brand new springs).
Don't know about P6's yet - new to Rovers - but repro parts on some classics are steadily getting worse !
