suspension - rear shocks

What length should rear shockers be,the reason i ask is that when i rebuilt my p6 i fitted new heavy duty rear springs and new shockers but to fasten up the bottom shocker to the arm i had to use spring compressors to lower the car down low enough to bolt up the shocker.The shockers were from an auto jumble and were marked up p6 rears but i do not have any old ones to compare.Any feed back much appreciated.

Where did you get your H D springs from and how much ? I think that's what mine needs

ray weeklys.cost £70.00 the pair including the vat but that was back in 2000.

Thats what I just paid anyway

Just changing my rear springs and measured the shocks for you steve.

Fully extended 19" from very tip of mouting studs and 13 1/2" when closed. My springs needed compressing when refitting the shocks so I don't think you have a probllem. Shouldn't be to much trouble to drop a shock out and check though.
