TC & V8 Instrument PCBs

Hi all,
does anyone know if the series 2 TC and V8 instrument panel PCBs are identical? My warning lights (oil, ign and brake) as well as my temp and fuel gauges have all failed and I'm begining to think I have a dry joint somewhere. The fuel and temp were fist to go (temporarily fixed with a new voltage stabiliser) follwed by the warning lights. The backlights for the panel have also failed. I have a spare 2200TC panel which would save me a lot of time I don't have. Obviously I'd swap across the V8 instruments.

Are we allowed to guess?

Although some of the instruments are different, they perform the same function, and are fitted in the same relative positions, so providing the multiplug that connects it to the loom is the same, I'd guess that the PCB's were the same as well, but not having a 2000/2200 parts book to hand it's all guesswork at this end, so don't blame me if it all goes pear-shaped.
 
Thanks Harvey, I won't hold you to that answer :LOL: . Was just curious to see if anyone had sucessfully interchanged them. I'll have to carry out further testing and ultimately remove the offending unit for further examination so I might check the two units against each other while it is off the car. I know too well from the industry I work in that something isn't necessarily right just because it plugs in. Don't fancy the thought of the smoke escaping from my loom :LOL: . Given the amount of questions I have at the moment it might be easier to pop out to Essex with a list!!

Probably easier to repair the one you have, most instrument panel faults are just dry/fractured solder joints and just need a retouch with the soldering iron ( with some rosin cored flux solder).

Hi Dave,

I've just checked the Parts Books, and the PCB's the same for the 2000/2200 TC and the V8.

Part number 555995 for RHD and 555996 for LHD.
 
Given that neat bit of research from Stan, the other hazard is that there is a change from RVC to RVI rev counters during the production run which may have an impact on the boards for both.
