Technical puzzle

Picked this up years ago, and figured out what it was for.
Anyone else got one or know what it is?
The inscription reads :- "TO SET AT .010/.012 REMAX PAT APPLIED FOR"
on one and "TO SET AT .014/.016 REMAX PAT APPLIED FOR" on the other.

Rover or other make maybe even a bike? feeler gauges to set the valve gaps and points!??
 
I think it goes over the distributor cam so you can set the points without having to get the heel of the points on the peak of the cam
 
Spot on Dave.
Used it lots of times on all kinds of cars, especially Minis.
The Feelers are thicker than the size on them, to allow for the thickness of the stainless steel sprung tube.
Works a treat.

I think my answer to the Lazy mum puzzle was most accurate, but not nearly as interesting as others!!
