If like me you didn't know that Chrysler not only built a workable turbine-engined car but released a small fleet of them to an amazed public for evaluation & appraisal, then watch this:

Interesting doco. Shame they didn't give the same intense involvement to electric power
 
There is a book on the subject. Published by SAE I think. The Lead engineer went off and formed his own small gas turbine company. The M1 Tank engine is one of his designs.

Unlike other designs One of the difficulties they encounted was finding enough service stations selling Diesel as most American trucks at the time used petrol because it was so cheap...
