Hello

As i was a child (50 years ago) i offen went to the neighbour who has as jaguargarage. I looked into the MK2 and remember the smell of the leatherinterior. I have not find this in the leatherinterieur nowadays. Do they not make this leather anymore? What is the name?

I think you can buy it .
Something that hangs from your rear vision mirror . Along with those fluffy dice .

What he /\ said, it is available in spray tins these days to make second hand cars with cloth upholstery attractive to
prospective buyers....

The leather tanning process and materials 40 or more years ago was very different from what is the standard today. It is exactly this procedure that gave the leather interiors of those days that distinctive scent. Modern leathers are thinner, almost always have an artificial embossed grain patern, and definitely they don't smell the same, if they smell at all.
This is the reason that a car interior reupholstery, no matter how good, it will never be as good or as valuable as a well preserved original interior.

the R75 seats I've got in mine still have the leather smell. The leather's pretty thick (at least, thicker than the old P6 seats - though they were worn out). Car smells less fusty and more leathery. mmmmm.

I used some Gliptone Liquid Leather Conditioner, which is advertised as 'smelling like leather should' or some similar puff.
It seems to be a fair claim - I notice it, particularly on hot days (so not this summer!) & I've had people comment (unsolicited) to that effect.
