UCA 445J Lives!!

UCA ( orca ) the shark has fired up!!!
Not run for over 12 months.
Now running SD1 heads, with composite gaskets, and timing cover, new rocker shafts, 3.9 cam.

Didn't run for long because:- no exhaust, no fuel pipes, no cooling water, no trans. oil, air filters..etc.
Just filled the float bowls. Started without choke( no cable) so much be rich.

BUT ticked over OK on all 8.
Oil pressure about 40 psi.

Grin from ear to ear.

All welding done, now for the paint.

Wonderful feeling when all eight cylinders fire up and burble away happily to themselves, for the first time in ages. :D

Nice one.

Richard

Orcas are whales btw, not sharks :)

:D after the trans rebuild, all brakes rebuilt, underneath cleaned and painted
Can't wait to fit a propshaft ( BMW to Rover) < :D

Yes, but a Killer whale Richard!

She's back from the pain shop.
Boot , Roof, Door shuts and Bonnet painted. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

What colour is that then? Looks a sort of pale oatmeal in the photo's. Is it the light and it's actually white?

Bet you can't wait to get it all assembled again!

Chris

Chris,
I believe it's a VW harvest moon.
It was delivered back this morning, and stood on the drive 'till I got home from work.
Spent an hour drying it. The colour doesn't show too well under the fluorescent lights.

Jim.

I know I should be working on the wings, but I couldn't resist refitting the back screen trying on a few shiny bits........

Why not fit a few shiny bits ? good to keep the enthusiasm and momentum up . If it is April yellow i cant wait to see it done , Great colour :D

Late November I was diagnosed early stages of prostate cancer.

My thoughts have been elsewhere, so the rover was slightly neglected, and this forum.

I still read on here every day, but posting was not a high priority.

Now I have a retirement date, a holiday planned, the treatment in early June.

What a BIG difference a plan makes.

Now UCA is back on track.

All painted in the new colour, except the "C" pillar covers, and the sill covers. They are done in the Mexico Brown.

I know how much pictures are enjoyed so........
