Unusual 3500S

Hi everyone

Just thought some of you may be interested to see some pictures of that 3500S which I sold four years ago precipitating my temporary absence from the P6 world!
She was completely restored by the previous owner at JP Restorations, and he spent a small fortune. I further improved the car, particularly mechanically. She had everything really, 5-speed conversion, unleaded heads, fully-electronic ignition, webasto roof, PAS, stainless exhaust, boot mount, and...

an extraordinary non-standard red interior! The original was buckskin. The seats and ET's were beautifully re-trimmed in red leather and all matching interior trim made bespoke at huge cost. Opinions varied on how this looked with the Cameron Green, but she was very striking!

I sorted quite a number of issues over about four years driving her almost daily, and clocking up over 20,000 miles. My main complaint was the monstrously heavy clutch which made driving in town a real chore after about five minutes! A divorce, house purchase, and impending second marriage forced her sale.

Have deleted the massive pics, some better ones now added on most recent post!

Wow 1:1 scale pictures. I do like the interior, I think it looks good with the green.

John.

I expect it looks very nice but i can't see it all on my little screen . Try downsizing the pics a tad

Love that interior looks really well done, would have been nice to see it in real life, do you know if its still about?

Looks like it's been exported.

That interior looks superb ! Whether it "goes" with the green paint is a matter of personal taste but I certainly wouldn't say no to it

You may find it hard to believe, but the seats were completely re-trimmed in red twice! I have seen pictures of the first job, done when the car was restored, and the leather matches the rest of the trim - almost toledo red. Apparently the front seats were subsequently vandalized, and the leather replaced throughout on insurance, and for some reason were changed to this mulberry colour. This hadn't long been done when I bought the car. I know... You couldn't make it up!!!

No, the car coming back to us is an almond automatic. There are lots of pics of it on my other thread. They were taken last year by Nick Dunning and he posted them there recently to aid my search. Have a look!

Hi harveyp6! How did you discover that UPJ 77M has been exported? Would love to know...

Do a vehicle enquiry on the DVLA website as I did

here
https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPo ... home/intro

(and copied/pasted into my previous posting)

and note the "Y" next to "Export Marker". It's probably gone to Ireland as everything over a rolling 30 years old is Tax Exempt there, and at one time loads of cars were going over.

Will keep an eye out for it here, if it's not still on a UK reg it has enough distinguishing features to identify it with a new Irish reg.

It would be on vintage tax at €52 per year
