Re: i have now got a new toy but not a p6

We had a Saab 93 convertible, got rid of it when the P6 came along, still not sure Mrs Happy Days is over the culture shock. Lovely cars the Saabs

Re: i have now got a new toy but not a p6

Hope this is a real Saab , before they became Vauxhalls in a smart coat

Re: i have now got a new toy but not a p6

I've been looking at the old 99's recently & half-heartedly considering buying one. I must stop that, what with the Delicas & all.

she does look very tidy there are a few marks over the body but part from that she is good

That looks rather nice Gareth,
I used to hanker after a 900 turbo back in the 80's,
understandable I suppose given my age then.
Last of the real Saabs IMO. :D

to be honest i dont think it will be staying around for long now but i know the plan with it now is to tidy him up and sort out the arches first and go from there

Hi Gareth.

TBH>>>If I were you,,give it a good clean and polish, mini service, and get an MOT on it and sell it as it is!!
Let the new owner do the rest, because you would have to do a perfect repair to the rusty areas to marginally increase its value!
As it is, its an honest solid car with a bit of patina, nothing hidden or botched over!!
Now if it had of been one of the original iconic Saab Turbo's,then it may have been worth doing a few jobs as they are extreemly collectable!!

Dave

I like your Saab 900i Gareth. I've always had a fondness for Saab 900s and Saab 96s. In fact a Saab 96 is one of the few classics I would like to own other than a P6. I can recall plenty 900s on the roads in the 80s & 90s - they always looked as though they handled very well for quite big/heavy cars. Shame you can't get proper Saabs anymore :( .

Nice one Gareth , i do like a nice old scab . Test drove a 900 turbo about 10 years ago , went well , chickened out in the end though and bought a cavelier sri .

yea she is a good old car got a few mot's with it and when she did fail it was some thing stuiped well the girl friend dont want me to have this for long so this has to go and no to sure if i can get this for a mot as the misses wont let me lol so i will put it on here for sale just in case any 1 would be interested in this old girl

Fantastic cars - given the interest in 900 Turbos I wonder if in years to come the 900i will become as collectable when numbers dwindle. Looks like the ideal daily driver.

Took one of the old 9000s around Iceland recently without incident and was exceedingly happy. No rust on the wheel arches as there were no arches to speak of after 20 odd Rekjavikian winters.

If its something cheap and easy to fix, less than £100 inc the mot I would do it,as its worth loads more with an mot!
If you are happy just to try and get £200 -£300 for it as is then just sell it.

Those were the days when Saabs had a character all of their own
I knew a woman many years ago with a T reg (1978) Saab Turbo , black with red stripes
Nice ....
