V8 camshaft recommendation?

Hello,
I am carrying out a light rebuild of a 3500s engine before fitting it to my '72 3500 auto.
I was thinking of putting on a pair of '89 rebuilt heads (that I already have) with composite gaskets as well
as a new cam, chain and followers. The car will stay on its SUs.
A popular mod for RRs is to fit the 3.9 camshaft into 3.5 EFIs and I have done this successfully.
Can anyone recommend which camshaft I should use for my P6? I am looking for a mild upgrade only.
How does the 3500s compare to the 3.5 or 3.9 standard RRs for example?
Many thanks in advance with this 'complex' subject. Philippe

Using the RR 3.9EFI camshaft gives about 20bhp increase through the midrange without any losses at either end, so all round it's as close as your likely to get to "something for nothing". It's what I'd do in your circumstances. Along with a steel cam sprocket.
