Various Bits Wanted.... - Help!!

Hello there

Does anyone have any of the following available:

- Police Spec Front Deflectors, or know of anywhere in the UK to get the plastic valance that Scott's Old Rubber offers 'Down Under'?
- Complete original Air Con unit
- Koni Classics
- Uprated Springs
- Complete Power Steering Unit.

Anything else that I might be interested in...

Thanks!

Al

Hi Al

Could that be an auto to 5 spd manual conversion in prospect then?

New police front spoilers together with full handling packages (springs, uprated front a/roll bar, rear anti roll bar and appropriately valved dampers) plus lots of other goodies available from Alan Ramsbottom at Leighton Buzzard on 01525382968.

The king for manual steering to power steering conversions is probably Ian Wilson (link off the main website) and he can undoubtedly sort you out pedal boxes as well.

I'm afraid the Koni dampers are now discontinued and sold out.

Best of luck

Chris York

It most certainly is a five speed conversion, as well as a modded 4.0Litre V8 to be dropped in!! :D

Some great info there, so thanks!!

According to Spax website, they make rear shockers for the P6. Think I'll just uprate the springs on the front and get the Spax for the rear.

Thanks for your help.

Al

Not sure I'd put spax on the rear with standards on the front, if they're the adjustable spax, I had some all-round on a chevette a few years back, and even turned right down they were still a good bit firmer than standard.
I wouldn't want standard soggy front end and rock hard rear, should make for interesting handling.

I believe Leda were working on a full kit for the p6, might be worth giving them a try.

I have Spax front and rear. For the front they had to be made, but the price was not bad, just a little more than for the rear.

My lowered '73 3500 wears four AVO adjustable gas shocks, they're stiffer even on the lowest setting, bright red, that's about all I can tell you as they'd been fitted by the previous owner.
What have you done to your 4 litre lump then? Will it have SUs, EFI or a 4-barrel carb?

Hello

It's runny a fairly lumpy cam, reworked vitesse heads, and a holley 4-barrel carb...

AVOs eh??? I think we'd all like to find out a bit more about those!! Crikey!!

Any way of getting in touch with the previous owner???

I can recomend AVO shocks, they are easily adjusted and are rebuildable. I used them on all my single seaters and my Cooper S (Classic) racer, they produce units valved according to original vehicle spec or will build them to your requirements. They are really excellent units. I found fronts and rears for the P6 listed on the internet for about 45 pounds each for spec items, custom versions will be a little more. I'm about to order custom ones for my rally project.
