WANTED... RoStyle wheels...

I am about to dive in to P6 ownership again in the shape of a tasty Tobacco Brown P6B and I thought it would look A1 with a set of RoStyle wheels on it... Were they an option on the P6 when new or is it just a P5 fitment that also happens to fit the P6...?! Whatever the answer I would like a set of RoStyle wheels that will fit a 1975 P6B please. Any help would be hugely appreciated...

Hi grifterkid.

You will find 2 types of rostyles fitted to P6's! The original optional extra ones which were 14" and the 15" ones as were fitted to the P5's.
The option is up to you,but original 14" ones are hens teeth rare, and either will cost the best part of £200 each to have restored!!
If you do find an excellent set of 4 or 5, of the 14" ones, expect to pay the best part of £400+ for them!
P5 15" ones are relatively easy to find and are quite a bit cheaper, you could pick up a good set of 4 for £100!

Good luck

Dave

If fitting 15inch P5 Rostyles watch what tyres are fitted as they can rub on rear suspension arms when the car is fully laden  I have a good set of P6 Rostyles but i'm keeping them 8) they cost me £250 with a rotton 1971 P6b attatched so a bargain i reckon

I think mine had 185-60-15 fitted perhaps my rear springs were tired and a little on the low side :?

Does anyone recall the Rostyles fitted to BMC Landcrabs and Wolseley 6's? Do they fit ?

They are the same PCD, and the Rover ones fit the Landcrabs, but IIRC the offset is different so I'm not sure if the Landcrab ones would clear on a Rover.

Yes they fit!!
But even these are extreemly rare as well!!
I bought a set of 5 some time ago, before getting a set of the P6 originals, but the cost to have them chromed was approaching a grand for the set of 5.
When I compared their fit with a P6 14" rostyle, I couldnt really see or measure much if any difference!!
Apart from the rim and center not being riveted together like the originals are, they looked identical.
I moved them on and did a deal/trade with a well known enthusiast who has a small collection of near mint p5/p6's, for some cash and a near mint back bumper!!
I was very lucky and got hold of another excellent set,so now I have a set for daily driving and keep the best set of 4 for when I go to shows

14" rostyles i think look the best but are expensive as previously mentioned.
have you thought of different alloy's such as minilites?
i have a set of dunlop things on mine possibly rarer than rostyles but i have wolfrace slots and starmags and others to play with.
can be dear mind if no nuts and centres with the wheels for they can be £100 + just for those items alone!
if you can find them!

These are a set of 14" RoStyles I had that were shot. They have been blasted & sprayed silver (like MGs & some Fords).

After seeing a guy's chromed wheels at the White Rose rally a couple of years ago with normal wheel nuts, I decided to do mine similar as they look a bit more subtle to me, but I appreciate they might not be to everyone's taste. I haven't even bothered with any wheel centres yet!

What a difference they make!

That S1 looks the business on those RoStyles... I really cannot afford 14" ones so I think I'm going to have to plump for the cheaper P5 15"ers...!!! Either way I think they both look good... Has anybody got a picture of a P6 on P5 15"ers I can have a squiz at please...?!?!?!

see what i can do omn the picture front.
i have a black v8 with 15" ers on and its ok but i think they aren't as deep as 14's
you want chrome ones if possible in my humble opinion and caps and wheel nuts as well, a locking one is advisable just don't lose the key!

just thought!
my dunlop alloys are chrome like rostyles!
i'm no wheel expert but changing wheels is one of the few things i can do !
so i have a few different sets, changes the cars look dramatically sometimes
not always for the better!

If you want some real side-on pics, I can take some in the next few days. :)

That is a nice car espescially with the Rostyles fitted also there's something about that colour that does it for me 8) it just looks the part it could almost be back in 1970s who would know eh

Might notbe any good but I have a full set of Rover Rostyle wheel trims! They are virtually unmarked..... will dig them out and have a good look if you are interested. The only thing that you need to change are the wheel bolts/nuts as they are spring loaded behind them. They came off of a SD1..... Sorry for using those letters on here!
