Wanted- Series 1 Front Grille

I'm after a series 1 grille please, doesn't have to be mint as i'm not too fussy. What do you have? Thankyou!
 
New ones come up on ebay fairly often but no-one seems to buy them. Unless you have a front-ender nothing ever happens to them, unlike the plastic ones.
 
V8 or 4 cylinder? They're not the same you know. S1 V8 grilles are a bit harder to come by but 4 cyl ones should be easy.

Oh never knew that what's the difference & are they interchangeable???
 
Apart from the badge mount on the lhs V8 grille, the top edge profile is slightly different and the lower mounting tabs are in different places. (V8 grille on top)

Also, the V8 headlights sit about 3/8" closer to the edge of the grille. Easily identified by the extra vent holes in the outer edge of the 4 cyl grille.

Are they interchangeable? I think they will 'fit' but probably not very well, however the V8 grille does fit a series 2 V8 with no trouble.
 
Interesting info, didn't know the V8 grille was different!
I suppose i'm after a series 1 V8 then, unless they're expensive. I've been looking
on Ebay over the last week or two but I haven't seen any. Are they stainless steel or aluminium?
 
They are aluminium. Series 1 V8s aren't that common where I am but I have seen enough on Ebay UK. Surely someone in the club out there will have one to sell.
 
^ Thanks for that, I might give them a try if no one here has anything. Last time I had a P6 there was a specialist in Derby.... Annabals or something like that? Does anyone know if they're still going?

hi there i got a series 1 v8 and after the front end crash i got hold of a 2000 grill and had to mod it to fit round the head light had to cut a bit off and the bottom part but the top part did fit but could only hold to screw on till i got a v8 but i had to wait about 3 months till i got mine from ebay and wot a barging just a £10 and in great con
 
Hi Ian Wilson has some i was there other day and saw them on a shelf , but im sure he will have v8 and 2000
