What Numberplate??

So Cal V8

I know it's a little premature, but I do have to transfer all of Wild Rover's details down at the DMV. So I have been thinking about what license plate to hang on him. I had a little play with the DMV online system and found that all of the following are available - so I put the suggestions to you all for your thoughts...

70 P6B; WLDRVER; 70 RVER; V8 RVER; 70 3500

It will cost me about $100 for the personalized plate - I will probably get one of the special interest plates, most likely the Yosemite plate like the one on the wife's car (I know it's not a Rover).

I welcome any suggestions and ideas. If you want to play with the options at DMV here's the link https://www.dmv.ca.gov/wasapp/ipp2/processPers.do
If that doesn't work go to dmv.ca.gov and under the tab vehicle registration click on the link for plates.

Thanks in advance.

Alan

I'm quite fond of personalised plates. I wouldn't replace the original period plates but if they are no longer an option, then some appropriate plates look great.
I have 'R0V3R' on my TC, 'V8ROVR' on my '72 V8, 'P6B S' waiting to go on the '73 S, and 'P62OOO' waiting to go on the LHD.
We only get 6 digits to play with in NZ.

I reckon 70 3500 would look pretty good, but if you can bag WLDRVER to go with the story of how you got the car then go for it.

Can you add the missing letters with a marker pen?

I'm with WLDRVER! All the others are just too predictable. WLDRVER will get you stopped in the street to explain what it's about!

Personalised number plates here in New South Wales are ridiculously expensive,..depending on the style, over $400 per year, every year..

WLDRVER, but if you can have WLDROVR, even better I think.

I seem to be reviving some old threads here...

Anyhoo - me and the missus enjoyed a day off together and over Irish cofees down by the beach, among other things we talked about suitable number plates for the beastie. I have to register it soon or else the previous owner will be getting letters from the state, so good a time as any to go for a personalised plate - she likes all of the previous suggestions, but also threw "70 V8" out as a possibility. As it happens, it's available, initial fee is $98 plus registration fee and then an additional $38 per year - any thoughts?
