WHAT ONE FAULT CAUSED THESE SYMPTOMS ???

Hi all.
Just for fun at Xmas!!
See who can correctly diagnose the fault that caused this list of symptoms on my V8 auto.
1. sluggish performance!!!.
2. no kickdown!!.
3. very bad fuel consumption!!.
4. auto up/down gearchange lumpy and indecisive!!.
5. only revs to 4000!!
5 symptoms,1 cause!!
What was the cause if it all ?????

carbs not balanced and sloppy linkage.

Option 1: Rudolf fed genetically modified barley by mistake - red nose not glowing brightly enough

Option 2: Santa fed genetically modified Barley (in fermented form) - red nose glowing far too brightly

My guess is a blocked fuel filter - I had a similar problem once.

I would look in the gearbox for a blocked filter or gummed up valves.

It could be that oily rag that you misplaced after wiping your dipstick ,...or a plastic bag

Hi, what about a blocked exhaust box???
I had it happen on an old cavalier diesel years ago, felt like i was dragging a cathedral along behind the car!!!!!

Hi all.

It was not exhaust or fuel blockage,or anything dead or alive related!!
Heres a clue!!!
The replacement part cost no more than 5p and took 5 mins to fit!!

Any more idea's???
Somewone was close,but this fault caused the fault they mentioned, that caused the rest to happen!!!!!
