shall i keep my series 1 v8 or sell it just 1 thing after another with it every thing is going wrong brakes goes then the engine is going what is next to go on it way i feel i should scrap the thing

Depends on what comes next
If you buy another , you could have even worse problems
If you fix the one you've got , you could have reliable motoring for years
Walk away from it for a while and then it won't seem so bad after a break

yea i did that for about 2 weeks but the pig got me back again yea i know what you mean it just going throught a bad stage it been fine yr years now the last month just 1 thing after another p6's what are they like lol

Things will go wrong if you dont use it regularly enough, even if you rebuild brakes they can be stiff or pull if not used enough.
On the other hand things eventually will give up,and its a bummer when you get a bad run of faults happening.
Why not use it every day for a month or 2 long and short journeys!!
If you do get that peee'd off with it and decide to get rid,PM me!!

yea i was driving it every day for about 3 months then it all started i just need a bit of space from it they drive you up the wall dont they i dont realy want to sell it but it driving me that way lol

If the bodywork and frame are good and the uphostery nice then its worth keeping, like all mechanical parts that wear there will always be a renewal time for those componants and for cars of these ages that is just inevitable.

yea the body is in good condition and the seat are it all solid all i want is to jump in the car and drive it but every time i see it something else goes wrong with the thing just think i need some time apart from it

If it's sound - stick with it. There are a lot of bodged cars out there! :D

Most people on this forum with straight cars will have had them a long time, will have gone through dark periods like you are having (I've had many myself - kicking cars & threatening to scrap them!), but will still hang on to them.

I've been offered a nice(ish) early V8S, but I think it has some (perhaps) suspect repairs, whereas my series 1 V8 has one repair patch 2" square that I'll redo at some point. Plenty of niggles to sort, but basically a very straight car. Another V8S is tempting, but it really would have to be pretty unmolested to change as you don't accurately know what you're getting! :?

yea well it been in the family for about 17 years i think i have had it 4 years and spent a lot of money and time with it had new sills on there and so on it just need 1 plate of welding next to the rear sill near to the rear cross member which is nothing i just put on a new brake master and now the servo is not working so that got to be replace and the engine has to be replace thats about it but it just having the time and when i am carmed down to do it lol i got this space engine that has been layied up for about 3 year and was working great when came out of car trying to turn it over by hand yesterday and it turns nice 3 quaters and then it just damms any ideas what it could be

well i have got some where now i got a 35k 10.5 engine in the corner and i have started to rebuild that now but all the bearning for the crank and pistions just got to put back the top end so at least i am getting somwhere
