What Tyres Do You Have???

Unfortunatley I have found a flat tyre on my Rover today, and it looks like it's because the tyre itself is old and slightly perished. I knew I would have to change the tyres at some point, but it has happened sooner rather than later.

First of all, what tyre size should be on a 3500 S... Are they meant to be 195/14? I ask because mine are 185/14.

Next question, what make of tyres do you all fit, and how do they wear? I know it's a heavy car and it will be pressed into daily service soon, so I don't want to be buying tyres every month. BTW, I don't drive the Rover... I roll. In other words im not taking corners flat out etc :twisted: :LOL:

185x14 was the standard (and only, apart from Denovo) size from the factory. I'm sure you'll get lots of recommendations on size and type from others. Me, I just like 'em round and black..................

I have 195/70 R14 tyres on mine which actually come up a bit small and hence the speedo reads over slightly but they do look a bit better than the standard 185HR14's because of the (slightly) lower profile sidewalls.

As for brand, when I bought the car they were Hankooks on the rear and Michelin MXV on the front but I've just fitted some Toyo's to the front recently as they were about a third of the price of the Michelin's.

I think the originals were just 185/14 with nothing written on about profile. They were about 82 profile I believe.

The person I bought it from put 5 brand new tyres on 8) all 90's.

I will check they are not commercial tyres.
 
I use Michelin Energy XM1 in size 205/70 R14 98H.

They are wonderfully quite, with excellent grip in both wet and dry.

My tyres are 185R14 90H - :oops:

Whatamistakatomaka :roll:

There is no profile on them so I assume they are 80-82's
