When was my car made?

How can I find out when my 2000sc was made. I know it was registered in the early summer of 1973 but If I could prove it was built in 72, I could go tax free!!
I could send £20 to Heritage but I thought it may be free on the web somewhere. Any ideas, I thought it was worth looking in to.

Thanks for that......so the numbers go down???? My number is 436-14774c I think I am out of luck then!?!? Shame as most of the bits added to the car some 20
years ago now were from a 1970 auto. But that won't really help.....

Chassis numbers for the 2000SC Home market series II began with 436.

They were made between Sept 70 and Sept 73 and ran from 43600001 and 43617875.

There were 5,193 made for thehome market in 1973 which means the chassis number started in 1973 somewhere around 436-12682

Yours was almost certainly made in 1973 :(

Spend the £20 and get the certificate, they look nice on the wall, it will also add to the car's paper work if you come to sell it. Also will give you the birthday of your car. Mine is 12th September 73 IIRC. :)

My wall is covered with pictures of the car! I will never sell my P6. I bought the car when I was 17......I am now 43 . Had it longer than the wife!!
