White bung with cap on top of gm180

After moving house and shifting the car I heard a hissing noise coming from the top of gearbox so I uncovered it and found a small white plastic bung with a spinning cap on it(positioned about 1 o clock) on top of the gm180 box, can someone shed some light as to what this is please I can't seem to find anything in the manual.
