yes she is not happy at all and has threatened to rust as much as possible, so ive promised her she will be back in the warm garage come november lol.
but as i use her everyday now im happy to leave her outside for now shes well undersealed so should be ok, but i will be keeping my eye on her lol
we are pleased with the white rover and its so nice to have a car thats untouched and everything on it that was on from new, unlike rosie that has so many different cars on her lol
so i ve got my hands full now lol
keep watching frazzle i know you would love this car its got the 2.2 sc engine and its a nippy little thing :D

well update on this rover , we ve found out that the engine is past it head gasket gone and pistons very bad when we got the head off, so we ve sorced another engine for it and will get the old engine rebuilt at some stage, so ive decided im going to let one of my rovers go , as ive got rosie and my v8 project , one off them will have to go.
so i will have to decide soon

good news is all the white rovers parts are back on the car :D

Well collected engine this week so here goes, i will be fitting my replacement engine this weekend, another 2200 sc from a poor rover going to meet its maker.
its an auto engine so ive swoped the flywheel and hope thats all i need to do as its going into a manual
if anyone wants to add does and donts please do as im still learning lots about these cars, i will be taking pictures as i go.
i will add a thank you at this stage to all those that helped to find the engine and a lovely pub lunch. :D big thank you.
and what lovely people we rover owners are

regards

My only tip for refitting (assuming your doing engine and box together) is to get the back end of the car up as high as you can.

Hi all well i ve hit a problem, im hoping its easy solved but here goes, car is a manual engine i have to replace is out of a auto , so ive removed the auto flywheel ready to fit the manual fly wheel , here s the problem on the auto engine the bolt threads are sunk in by 1/2 inch were as on the manual the threads are flush. This is a spacer which ive now removed.
but it looks like the crankshaft is different to the manual so i cant fit the manual flywheel to the auto engine
any help will be welcomed very much
its hard to explain in words but i hope the pics help
regards

It's difficult to see from your pic but it looks like you still have the auto spigot bush in the back of the crank. You need to get that out and replace it with a manual one, preferrably the one from your old engine to avoid any running clearance issues.

Hi thanks for info after a chat with Ian and a fresh look at the engine and a good friend coming down with very pregnant girlfriend , we have sorted it , we removed spigot and replaced with the one out off the old engine.
so were good to go.
im just doing a bit of cleaning and painting in engine bay while i have the chance.
