This is one form of Einstein's puzzle. I'm sure one of my old lecturers years ago said there was a flaw in it (one of the conditions is not totally defined, I seem to think).

ISTR now that the point the lecturer made was that "The green house is on the left side of the white house." has everybody assuming the the white house must the last house in the row. That's not really true, as the third house or fourth house has a house to their left that could be green also!

Nevertheless, making that assumption, and trying different nationalities, I get the same answer as Richard Quattro, namely that the Prince smoking, coffee drinking German of the green house 4th in the row owns the zebra!

Yep..it is an old one. I remember incubating it over a couple of ales when it was new to me!
