Why do people do things like this.

Probably because the owner is so socially inadequate he has to beat and starve an innocent animal to make himself feel good
People that start mistreating animals often go on to other crimes of violence

Because they are a#####les. With all crimes in the uk there is no real deterrent . Whoever done that is likely to be fined £50 because they are on benefits, banned from keeping animals for 2 years. Wow. Bet they are nowhere near as scared as the dog was .

Always breaks my heart when I see animals of any kind mistreated. The people that do, how worthless must they be!

Ron.

My own dogs have always been from rescue centres, the present one Patti had been in one nearly two years.
I'm collecting dog food and blankets, treats and stuff to take so that the 'inmates' get something special over christmas. I'll make sure Rosie has a bone to keep her occupied (assuming she's still there).
This is Patti,

How I agree with you Ron..

My girl is from The Labrador Rescue Trust previous owners wanted rid once the puppy
stage had passed and she was fully grown. My constant loyal companion and loves stretching out across the back seats
of my 3500S (on her own seat protecting rug of course !)

Tried to upload a pic but "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached" reared its ugly head yet again...........

When we're in Greece, we work for a charity which cares for cats
http://www.ninelivesgreece.com/en/
We feed hundreds of cats around the acropolis area, and help catch sick or unneutered ones to keep the situation under control.

Unfortunately a lot of people don't want to neuter their cats in Greece, so when one is dumped on the street (many daily in Athens) things can spiral out of control rapidly

Cats and especially stray dogs in Athens are frequently deliberately poisoned which is just horrific.

We have a close bond with both the stray cats and dogs, so much so they remember us when we return after being in the UK.

I used to play blues harmonica on the street in Athens and would have dogs come sit next to me while i played, one used to howl along but that never got captured on video!

Here's our adopted Athenian, he's been in the UK for nearly a year now and he loves the countryside :D

I think you'll find the pictures posted here are not hosted using the board server, but with the likes of photobucket etc... :?

i was walking down the road once and i was in a hurry to catch a train. i had to cross through this short cut to get to the train station etc... there was this bloke who was walking a dog (his own??) and the dog stopped to do his business. i was about 50 yards away or so.

as i got nearer, i saw him kick the dog and the dog give out a yelp in pain. young dog, a couple of years old, cant rememeber the breed exactly.

anyway, i thought "i'm not having that" and went over to ask him why he kicked the dog. "f*****g dog s*** on the floor and i've got to pick it up" he told me.

i reminded him of his responsibilites and pointed out to him that thats what owners have to do. he then decided to hurl abuse at me.

now i'm not someone to let something like this go on to my face, so i kicked him up the a*** and asked him how he liked that. he yelped in pain. i kicked him again and then again. i think he got the message. i also reminded him that if i saw him mistreat an animal in my presence again, i wouldn't be kicking him, i permantly make him rememeber not to kick an animal again.

i missed my train....

This is the dog I had before patti. Another rescue dog,he'd been abandoned by the side of the road.
He was called George,at fourteen he lost the use of his back legs and was euthanised. He was my best mate and I still miss the old fella.

Well done Ampwhu .
First 2 days I had my dog I couldn't bear to pick up her mess but now I think it's a sign of a good dog owner to be walking along with a plastic bag of poo looking for a bin to drop it in .
