Windscreen fitting

Help.

I fitted my windscreen last week, but, I wasn't happy with the top corners.
The stainless finishers weren't covered by the rubber at the top corners. The off side was worst.
So I took it out again, bought a new rubber, and refitted it.

Now its even worse!!! Both top corners are not poor.

Do the windscreen glasses vary?

I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Mines the same. I believe it's quite common for the rubber not to fit neatly around the corners.

My Rover's original windscreen, which was smashed by a flying stone in 1986, fitted very neatly with the rubber covering the stainless finishers as intended. The replacement screen which I had fitted by Australia's renown Windscreen company, fitted correctly on the n/s, but there is a miniscule gap on the o/s.

My thoughts would be that the adjusters at the base of the screen, which facilitate upward motion, had not been set as high as they (or in my Rover's case, just one) should have been. This would push the screen and the rubber in which it sits up into the correct original position.

I'll be helping to change both screens on a friend's Rover in the coming months, so I'll know for sure at that time if my present thoughts are correct.

Ron.
