what you think

It looks very well made.
I've never even thought about putting wood in a P6, but I suppose it could work. Very 'Triumph'!

I'm going to wait to see it fitted before I give my final verdict, I have always felt the standard part is a bit flimsy, so this could be the solution.

I agree the standard units are a bit flimsy, so this should be a nice and sturdy alternative. I think I may be tempted to cover it with leather for my tastes, but I am interested to see how it will look in place... :)

would work if you changed all the fake wood trim parts to match especially? Would be a nordic looking interior i guess?

IMO it looks a bit thick out of the car need to see it in and agree it would need to match the inserts. Think I would prefer to keep the ally ashtrays to break up the wood :?:

Obviously a good, woodwork-skilled mate Gareth, to think of you and MTH....

...but IMHO, I'm with quattro and Ron on this.

I agree keep the ally ashtrays and with all the other bits added will look good i bet
marcus 8)

wooden ashtrays sounds a little like a fire hazard :D
Perhaps you could add a veneer to match your door trims?

That looks very smart. If you're presumably a non-smoker, how about a cup-holder instead of the blank piece where the ashtrays would have been? I've always found it difficult to balance a take-away cup of tea or coffee anywhere in a P6, they don't quite fit under the dashboard top on the front shelf, and they don't stay upright very well stood between the gear lever and handbrake lever. Actually, if your mate could knock another one of those up with a cup holder or two, I'd be interested in one for my car. And as has already been said, adding a veneer to go with the trims on the doors and dash would look really sweet. Or perhaps staining the wood so it is the same shade.

my friend has put this in his p6 and it looks great i dont like the plastic 1 i have got real work on the doors so it will match i will takes some more photos once i have done the oil treatment and sprayed inside of the doors and fitted the new carpets cant wait to fit it

I quite like that idea as I've been thinking along those lines myself, looks nicley made as well, but agree with the wooden ashtray comments, need to keep a bit of contrast bling with the standard ashtrays, or if you are a non smoker replace with some other bling switches or auxillary guages maybe, An engine starting button from an Aston!! would be nice to see it sweep up towards the switch panel to hold a radio and the choke and reserve pulls, the possibilities are endless...
look forward to the installation,

Scott

Think it'll look nice installed , with all the other trim around it . How about a wine glass holder

Or. A beer tap?

I think removing the speaker grille would leave a very nicely proportioned little cubby for a poly-pin of real ale!

What's the law on that again...? Oh, right, yeah......
