So that was your car! I was admiring that on Saturday. Mine was the red 2000 TC round the corner by the Yankee stuff. I've never seen a Richelieu car in the flesh before so was paying particular interest to it - I'm still deciding which direction my inevitable respray should go in.
It was a reasonably good selection of cars, but nowhere near as good as previous years. I think the organizers took their eye off the ball a bit. The old Southport classic car show was far, far better.

Great result, well done :D

....but pleeeaaase, for the sake of your lovely paintwork don't use a leather to dry it off. Get yourself a nice big fluffy towel like this one. It soaks up the water without having to drag anything over the delicate paintwork :D

Dave

Excellent news, but that means you have to go back next year
Are you going to the Cleveleys car show on the 19th August? and what is the maroon kit car in your second photo?

John.

Well done on the trophy front, makes all the hard work a little easier when others appreciate what you are and have done.
Dave when my V8 has been painted we will go through the washing/drying routine.

Hi all and thanks for the comments, I had a look at your rover Michael I didn't see you otherwise I would of stopped for a chat maybe next time?. I noticed a few people using the towel method but I have always used a leather, The paint on the Rover is two pack and it is very hard so I don't think the leather will do any harm but thanks for the info Dave. I may go to the Cleveleys car show so may see you there John.
Regards all Ray.

The big red car is some form of kit car I didn't get the details of what it started out as or what it is called sorry.

The big red kit car was parked next-door-but-one to me (I was by the white MGB).
There was a little write up on it in the window. It's Ford running gear on a bespoke chassis. It had the 2.4l (?) V6 from the Scorpio/Granada with an auto box. It's one of the more convincing Rolls-Royce-esque kit cars I've seen, but the interior was awash with Ford switchgear. The steering column and stalks were straight out a mid-90s Ford, but with a MotoLita stuck on the end that looked really out of place! It even had the green backlit Escort/Sierra instrument binnacle lodged inside a wooden cabinet in front of the driver... some repro Smiths dials would have looked so much better.

I wonder what he uses it for? It's not really a wedding car colour.

Michael

Ah, I did wonder. It's actually half convincing as you say & not obviously a repro'. I recall at my friends wedding some years back, I stood there pulling their wedding car to shreds. It was actually a vintage car, but with modern bits haphazardly thrown at it, the rear lights were just generic plastic units & modern switchgear & instruments were fitted too. Not very good at all.
